The name of the club shall be MOPARS UNLIMITED – SEATTLE CHAPTER.

The purpose of the club is:

Promote the preservation and restoration of MOPAR/Chrysler Corporation vehicles.

Promote fellowship and enjoyment of MOPAR/Chrysler Corporation vehicles through participation in drag races, car shows, cruise-ins, Club events, and membership meetings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ARTICLE 1

MEMBERSHIP:

Section 1.

Membership is open to any individual at least sixteen years of age. An applicant between the ages of sixteen and eighteen years of age must have a waiver signed from a parent or guardian. Membership shall not be limited only to those individuals who presently own a MOPAR product. Membership shall be open to any individual showing a sincere interest and desire to be involved in the interests and activities of the Club.

An applicant must be in good standing with the community and have a genuine interest in MOPAR/Chrysler Corporation vehicles, whether in the field of show, street rodding, restoration, high performance, racing, or general enjoyment.

 

Section 2.

There shall be only two classes of voting membership:

A: Standard membership

For those who have met the requirements of membership and have paid annual dues.

B: Family membership

Family memberships are provided for those whose partner and/or children are also a member in good standing. This membership will cost $5.00 per person in addition to the standard dues. Included shall be one dash plaque and membership card for each person and one newsletter for each family.

Section 3.

The Club membership list shall not be published or disseminated to any person other than a current paid Club member, or to any company.

 

 

 

 

 

Article 2

Annual Dues:

Dues are set at the amount of $25.00 per year. Dues are to be paid in full, for all types of membership, by February 1st for each calendar year. Any member who has not paid the annual dues by March 1st of the current calendar year will be dropped from the Club roster and must resubmit an application for membership. For those who apply for membership after June1st and before October 1st, dues are set at $30.00 for the remainder of the current calendar year and the following calendar year. Club jackets are not included with membership dues and are to be purchased from the Club Store at the current market price. Article 3

Cost of Doing Business

A maximum of $500.00 per transaction will be observed by the Treasurer. Any transaction over the limit will require a majority vote of the Club Staff. No member shall receive any salary or remuneration of any kind from the Club except reimbursement of authorized expenses.

Section 1. Telephone

Cost of telephone calls for official Club business will be paid for by the Club. This amount is not to exceed $10.00 per month. The payout requests are to be submitted to the Treasurer for approval and payment.

Section 2. Postage

Postage for official Club business will be paid for by the Club to the current representative in office. The payout request must be accompanied by a receipt and a full explanation for the postage used. All payout requests are to be submitted to the Treasurer for approval and payment.

Section 3. Publication

Costs of publication materials for official Club business will be paid for by the Club to the current representative in office. The payout request must be accompanied by a receipt and a full explanation for the materials or services used. All payout requests are to be submitted to the Treasurer for approval and payment.

Section 4. Event

Costs associated with an officially sanctioned Club will be paid for by the Club to the current representative in office. The payout request must be accompanied by a receipt and a full explanation for materials or services used. All payout requests are to be submitted to the Treasurer for approval and payment.

Section 5. Raffle

Cost of supplies for the Club Store and Raffle will be paid for by the Club to the current representative in office. The payout request must be accompanied by a receipt and a full explanation for supplies, materials or services used. All payout requests are to be submitted to the Treasurer for approval and payment.

Article 4

Officers (Board of Directors)

Elected and Appointed Officers

Section 1.

The elected officers shall consist of:

President

Vice-President

Secretary

Treasurer

Sergeant-at-Arms

Section 2

The duties of the elected officers shall be as follows.

President

A.: Oversee and administer the activities of the Club

B: Oversee and insure the duties of the other officers

C: Be responsible for all awards, trophies and presentations.

D: Be the direct representative to the Main Charter Club

E: Moderate all scheduled meetings and insure that all information has been covered. Insure all participants are given an opportunity to present or request information before the close of each meeting.

F: Provide and maintain a schedule of business, as required through the year.

G: Insure that the requirements of the bylaws are fulfilled.

Vice-President

A: Will assume the duties and responsibilities of the President in his/her absence or inability to complete the term of office

B: Assist the President in the execution of his/her policies

C: Provide and maintain a yearly meeting and events schedule.

D: Insure a meeting place for all scheduled meetings.

E: Organize and insure some activity or presentation is scheduled for each regular meeting.

Secretary:

A: Maintain the Club Bylaws

B: Maintain a record of all business discussed at all scheduled Club and Staff meetings.

C: Provide a copy of the record to each staff member each month

D: Provide and maintain a permanent sign-in book for each scheduled meeting.

Treasurer:

A: Maintain the Club checking accounts and ledgers in an acceptable manner.

B: Receive and distribute all monies involved with Club activities. A maximum of $500.00 per transaction will be observed by the Treasurer. Any transaction over the limit will require a majority vote by the Club Staff.

C: Provide quarterly financial statements to the Staff and the membership.

D: Provide quarterly financial statements to the Newsletter Editor for publication.

E: Provide a receipt for all monies received by the Club for dues, etc.

Sergeant-at-Arms

A: Retain and maintain all items owned by the Club and insure their availability for all Club functions and activities.

B: Maintain an inventory record and log of all Club property.

C: Maintain all meetings in an orderly manner.

Membership Director

A: Maintain a current record of all members

B: Supply and distribute all membership cards upon receipt of dues by the Treasurer.

C: Maintain a numbered list of all membership cards issued including to whom each number was assigned.

D: Maintain a current phone and address list for the Newsletter Editor.

Club Stores Manager

A: Purchase and maintains product for sale to Club members.

B: Maintains ledgers and records of sales and merchandise.

C: Maintain Club Store bank account and forwards information to the Club Treasurer

Newsletter Editor

A: Insure that the newsletter is published and distributed in a timely manner at the prescribed interval

B: Gather material for publication

Section 3.

Appointed officers shall be as follows:

Newsletter Production Assistant

Webmaster

Section 4.

Appointed officers are on a voluntary basis and elected by the Club Staff. Terms in office are on an as needed basis, and may be of long or short duration.

Section 5.

Duties of the appointed officers shall be as follows:

A: An Event Coordinator is the person in charge of Club-sanctioned events.

B:

1. An Event Committee will be formed to support the Event Coordinator, as follows:

The Club Vice-President

Additional members of/positions on the Event Committee, to be determined and selected by the Event Coordinator and approved by the elected Club Staff.

2. The Event Committee will be a part of the Club Staff and will attend all Club Staff meetings. The Club Vice-President will attend all Event Committee meetings.

3. The Event Committee will be solely responsible for the Club’s All Mopar Spring Roundup and any other added events. The Club Vice-President will be responsible for the Club Christmas party.

The Event Committee will submit a budget and a summary of the previous year’s All Mopar Spring Roundup for approval by the elected Club Staff. The total amount necessary to meet the approved budget must be available in the Event account as of October of each year. Any additional funds in the Event account (i.e., profit) would be used for capital improvements for Club events and/or for charitable contributions as approved by the elected Club Staff.

After the All Mopar Spring Roundup, the Event Coordinator will render a report to the elected Club Staff. Any merchandise left over after the All Mopar Spring Roundup (for example, t-shirts) will be given to Club Stores to sell, but any loss caused by failure to sell the leftover merchandise will be borne by the Event budget.

[Add: All money, except a residual of $1000, that is received from the All Mopar Spring Roundup shall be transferred to the General Fund after all expenses incurred from the All Mopar Spring Roundup are satisfied.]

 

C: Club Historian

Will maintain a secure organized file containing all Club publications, correspondence, past membership roles and minutes of past meetings.

 

D: Newsletter Production Assistant

Assists the Newsletter Editor

E: Webmaster

Sets up and maintains the Club website.

Nomination of Officers:

Section 1.

Nomination of Officers shall be held during the first regular Club meeting following the All Mopar Spring Roundup.

Section 2.

In the event that no nominations are presented to constitute an election, the existing officer(s) will be retained until the following year. [Delete:Terms in office are not to exceed two years.]

Section 3.

In the event that an officer cannot fulfill an entire term in office, a replacement shall be selected by the current Club Staff from the membership at large, excepting the President. The appointee will serve the remainder of the term and may run for reelection at the end of the term.

Section 4.

In the event that no one candidate receives a majority vote on the first ballot, there shall be a run off election between the candidates who received the most votes on the first ballot.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Article 5

Meetings, Elections and Voting

Section 1.

Meetings will be scheduled for each month of every calendar year. Meetings will be held on the last Tuesday of each month, with the exception of December.

Section 2.

Elections will be held on the second Club meeting following the All Mopar Spring Roundup. Additional nominations for Club offices may be taken at the election meeting.

Those voting members present at the September Club meeting shall constitute a quorum.

A 51% majority (or greater) of those ballots cast is required for the election of a Club officer.

Section 3.

Newly elected officers are to assume their duties and responsibilities on the first of the month following the election.

Section 4.

Those voting members present at a regularly scheduled Club meeting shall constitute a quorum. A 51% majority (or greater) of ballots cast is required for a measure, resolution or amendment to a bylaw to pass.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Article 6

Club Accounts.

The Event Coordinator, [Delete: the Event Treasurer ], the Club Vice-President, and the Club Treasurer will be signers on the Event account. The Club Vice-President and the Club Treasurer will be signers on the Club General Account. The Club Vice-President, the Club Treasurer, the Club Store’s Manager will be signers on the Club Store’s account. Fidelity bond coverage will be maintained on all persons having signing authority on the Event account, the Club Store’s account and the General account. An annual audit will be performed on all three accounts. Monthly financial reports will be rendered by Delete: [the Event Treasurer and] the Club Store’s Manager to the Club Treasurer, and the Club Treasurer will render monthly financial reports to the President (or other Club officer who does not have signing authority on the accounts), not to the Club Post Office box. The Club Store’s Manager will have custody of the Club Store’s checkbook.

Article 7

Rules of Conduct

All members shall:

Delete [A: Continue to maintain their vehicle at all times in a manner acceptable within the membership and conducive to the intent and purpose of the Club].

B: Conduct themselves in a reasonable, lawful, and orderly manner at all meetings and events, and in connection will all business of the Club.

C: Comply with the motor vehicle laws of the State of Washington.

D: When arriving and leaving the area of any meeting or event, operate their motor vehicle in a controlled and acceptable manner.

E: Refrain from the consumption of alcoholic beverages during any scheduled Club event.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Article 8

Regulations

Section 1.

A member who violates the Rules of Conduct shall receive one warning. A subsequent violation shall result in the termination of the violator’s Club membership

Section 2.

A member who has been warned or lost membership may appeal to the Club Staff at the next scheduled meeting of the Staff.

Section 3.

In the event of the dissolution of the Club, all Club assets will be distributed according the Articles of Incorporation or according to applicable law; of if not so, specified, equally among the paid members of the Club.

Bylaw revisions may be proposed by the Club Staff or the membership. The Club Staff will present the proposed revisions at an appropriate General Membership meeting and at least 51% of the members present must be obtained for the approval of the revision].

The Club Staff may devise and publish regulations and policies from time to time pertaining to conducting the Club business or Club events.

Removal of officers

Upon presentation of a signed petition of at least 10 current members or 4 members of the Club Staff for the recall of any elected or appointed Club position to the Club Staff, the President shall present the petition to the Club membership for approval. It shall take at least 60% of the voting quorum to approve of the petition.
